1Trillion

Uncle Brads Really weird stuff

1 TRILLION

===========

How long would a million, a billion, a trillion drops of oil last the US?
There are about 19,000 drops in a US gallon; 42 gallons make a barrel;
The US uses about 21 million barrels of oil each day. (OR 882,000,000 gallons)

(divide by 19,000 then 42 then 21,000,000 to get days then divide by 365.25
to get years or multiply by 24 to get hours, another 60 to get minutes then 60 to get seconds

MILLION = .005 seconds (about)
BILLION = 5 seconds (about)
TRILLION = 1.4 hours (about)

==============

A million inches is 15.78 miles. You could walk a million inches but it would probably take two days.
A billion inches is 15,780 miles. That's almost two thirds of the way around the earth.
A trillion inches is 15,780,000 miles. The distance to the moon is 238,857 miles.
Divide 238,857 into 15,780,000 and you get 66.06. divide that by two to get round trips
and you get A TRILLION INCHES = 33 ROUND TRIPS TO THE MOON.

If you wanted to RUN for 1 million inches you would have to run the football field end to end 277.7 times
(15.78 miles)

Do this 1000 times and you have 1 BILLION inches
(15.78 miles once a day for 2 years and 8 months)

Have 1000 people run 15.78 miles , every day for 32 months
and you get 1 TRILLION inches(about)

======

How long is 1 million, 1 billion and 1 trillion seconds?
1 MILLION = 11.6 days / 1 BILLION = About 32 years / 1 TRILLION = About 32,000 years

=============

If you lined up 1 trillion protons edge to edge; how long would the line be?
A= 1mm (about the width of the the letter "i" on this page)

=========

a "pinch" of salt = 1000 grains (approx)
1/2 cup of salt = 1 Million grains (approx)
a bathtub = 1 Billion grains (approx)
